Regardless of where you’re from in the United States, chances are, you like pizza. Americans eat 251,770,000 pounds of pizza every year, so it’s pretty safe to say that we like pizza in this country. In New York City, residents tend to take their pizza seriously, which could be why there are so many fantastic pizza options everywhere you turn. The following restaurants are ones that many New Yorkers and visitors believe are the best options for pizza.

John’s of Bleecker Street

278 Bleecker Street, New York

Many New Yorkers know and love John’s of Bleecker Street when it comes to quality pizza and a legendary pizzeria. John’s of Bleecker Street is New York City’s third oldest pizza places and it seems like little has changed over time when it comes to the recipe and way John’s pizza is cooked. They still use a coal-burning oven like they did when they first opened, and the dining area booths have been around for a long time. This pizzeria is charming in its own way and the product is undeniably delicious.

Juliana’s Pizza

19 Old Fulton Street, Brooklyn

The name Patsy Grimaldi is known all over the New York area and is synonymous with delicious pizza. Grimaldi’s was started by Patsy’s late wife and what many don’t know is that the pizza place named Grimaldi has not been associated with Patsy since the 1990s. Recently, he opened Juliana’s Pizza, named after his mother, and brought back the coal-fired, thin crust pizza that is loaded with the best and freshest ingredients available.

Joe’s Pizza

7 Carmine Street, New York

Joe’s Pizza is yet another iconic pizzeria based in New York City. Their menu is simple and focuses on their passion of quality pizza, and while they have many options as far as toppings, they are dedicated to providing the best in New York pizza. Established in 1975, the founder Joe Pozzuoli still works there, teaching the next generation of pizza makers the fine art of making delicious pizza.

While this is in no way an exhaustive list, these three pizzerias are definitely a great place to start when you’re in the mood for excellent pizza.
